My hang up on the theory of siphons being able to use the powers of the people they siphon from, is that RY has already talked about having to limit how much power a person has. Like when it came out about the Rebellion kids having 2 signets, Vi having 2. In theory, a siphon could have every signet.

I think Navarre has been intentionally not fully training their rides in the use of their signets. I think the king make a deal to keep Navarre safe all that time, but I don’t know what they are giving the venom in return. I think most leadership from Navarre are corrupted because the venin took something from them and are blackmailing them.

Something unrelated I’m wondering about during my re-read. Violets mother was sick when Violet was in utero, and we later learn a key part of Violets story are her weak limbs, ligaments, etc. What happened when Lilith was pregnant?Similarly, Andarna’s dreamless sleep gets disrupted and she later deals with a weak wing and ligaments. They seem parallel to me, but I can’t figure out the significance.
