No. A) it’s not the English flag; B) there is no such reverence for a flag in England. There are rules for displaying it and respecting it when flow officially, but not as a symbol. I love the reveeence shown to the Saudi flag, but it’s not to the flag, it’s more to the phrase re the prophet, isn’t it. I do wish more people would respect the flag and what jt stands for (whatever nation it represents!).

The roundabout painting was ridiculous but it’s not a “blatant and disgusting show of disrespect” because flags touching the ground isn’t disrespectful in English culture. You’re applying a Saudi standard to English society.

Went through the countryside for a bit and saw so many gross and old flags, honestly as someone who has done flag raising ceremony (with guides and scouts), it's horribly disrespectful. They're left wet and tatty. It's also being horribly racist and xenophobic which I also don't like but I'm particularly grumpy at the tatty mess
