I got to the shelter this day around 7am & wasn’t planning to stay long, just needed to film some euthanasia listed dogs. But as I was leaving I looked around & saw how many dogs were crying at the gate… how many were sad, stressed, & desperate for even a few minutes out of their kennels or just some love in their kennel. I really did have to go. But the guilt! It eats you alive sometimes😭 So I dropped my bags, dropped my purse, picked up my leash again & kept going Finding a balance is hard. I want to give these dogs as much time & attention as possible, but I also want to give my own dogs (and my life in general) the time they deserve. it’s a constant tug of war. Our dogs aren’t walked enough & it’s heartbreaking. Many get walked once a week, some even less. They deteriorate so quickly in their kennels…mentally, emotionally, everything & it sucks to watch. All this to say….your local shelter probably needs more volunteers! go walk some shelter dogs!!❤️
