I don’t know about this take. Old republic Jedi have so much more experience fighting sith than the Jedi from the prequels. I’m sure Vader would do fine but I don’t think the older era Jedi would be floored by what he was doing.

I believe that your argument though well thought is invalid you have to understand that Vader even in his youth having the experience of the clone Wars does not truly understand what a force war capable Jedi council looks like the era of the Old Republic was when the Jedi were at war with the sith empire and the Republic was more of a backup a cannon fodder machine for that very purpose this is not a Jedi council centered around the thousand years of Peace of the Grand Republic disrupted by a sith plot this is the end of the sis as a species at the hand of the Jedi this is the era where the most basic of Padawan at the time of their trials had the same training of the majority of solid Master level knights in the Grand Republic Vader would be encountering an entire group of people whose sole purpose was fighting force users something that he had no real experience in in the context he would be experiencing it here we are not talking at the era where there were only a few thousand Jedi across the entire galaxy acting as generals to a bunch of clones we are talking about the era where the Jedi graduated thousands of knights daily on tython. The sith were producing less by the day and even eradicating themselves internally, and the birth of the rule of two to begin with if anything you could introduce an alternate timeline where malgus gets the idea from Vader in secret for all we know that might even be what happened... not every story has been written yet... however I must point out like I said even a master of sword work like Yoda would have had his day trying to match blades with the Masters the tens of thousands of Masters just at the temple alone during the Old Republic era. this is a Jedi who has just gotten done with the force Wars and the Mandalorian Wars of that era we're not only did they fight the sith but they also fought the mandalorians who had trained specifically for hunting for users and more so had the Mandalorian knights the Ara'ramikade who were forced trained saber-wielding mandalorians that combined the hunting techniques of their people with the combat prowess of both Jedi and sith and these people survived and even so much came out on top

Vader's style is not unstoppable, it's good but he got beat many times. And the Jedi of that time are VASTLY more experienced and better duelists than the Jedi Vader had to face, only the top Jedi of the ones Vader had to face would come close to that of the Old Republic era. And Malgus's rival Zallow would do very well against Vader, even beat him

Didn’t the regular troopers of the old republic go toe to toe with sith I’m pretty sure there is a scene with a old republic trooper fist fighting a Sith Lord after getting struck by force lightning

Vader may be stronger in 1v1 against most Sith there (although he still gets issues with how many people use Force Lightning there), he is completely inept politically and lacks the cunning that any other Sith had. Vader would die quickly, but not due to a 1v1, but because a rival Sith sent somebody to sabotage his ship and blow his ass up
