As a wheelchair user myself I can tell you, some wheelchair user can stand, walk very short distances and yes, even celebrate a goal! The wheelchair is not only for paralyzed individuals, it’s for whom ever needs it. It can be some bone despises, health matters and etc. 🫶🏻 I’m just happy to see them being able to enjoy a sport they enjoy ✨

As a CNA, wheelchairs can be used for several reasons aside from paralysis. I have seen several individuals who can only stand and walk short distances who must use wheelchairs to travel to and from their car, the cafeteria, etc.

"they are jumping" Yeah and? Im disabled and need a wheelchair for long distances and long periods of time standing. I can still jump up in excitement. Dont judge somebody by just looking at them because we dont know what they went through or what they have.

It is likely they are an ambulatory wheelchair user! this means they can likely still walk/ stand, and the wheelchair assists them to preserve energy/ manage pain etc.

I used a wheel chair when I was on chemo for non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Distances were too much on my body and lungs. Let’s not pass judgment folks.

Wheelchairs are often used by people who need them for distance. I can walk but only short distances. I could get up and do what they are doing but I couldn't walk all the way to the stairwell or go up stairs independantly.

My daughter has a friend who uses a wheelchair SOMETIMES. She uses it when she has a flair up of her degenerative illness.

Not everyone that uses a wheelchair is paralyzed or can’t walk, a lot can’t walk for long distances because of muscular dystrophy, partial, spinal cord, injury and many other diseases
