@qantas: Since being unveiled in 2013, over two million people have flown on one of the most recognisable aircraft in our skies. Mendoowoorrji, inspired by Paddy Bedford’s 2005 painting ‘Medicine Pocket’ and designed by Balarinji, was the fourth aircraft to join the Qantas Flying Art Series. As part of its mid-life maintenance, the Boeing 737-800 is being repainted in standard Qantas livery. 

But, the name and story of this magnificent aircraft will live on. Adam Goodes, who was onboard for its first flight, reflects on its journey to date.

Such a special livery, a shame to see it go. Hopefully we can get to see another special livery on another aircraft soon, maybe the A350ULR 👀

A shame to be loosing this livery.. very very rarely seen it but it’s honestly my favourite one in the fleet. Wish we had more liveries visit Adelaide as we only get the smaller aircraft (737’s for example). Actually what if all the link planes such as the bombardiers were liveries? That way regional areas who don’t get to travel gets to see these flying artworks and plane spotters would have a bigger reason to photograph them as they do get ignored a lot 😅

Side note on liveries, not to distract from the stunning flying art series, has there been a slight update to the livery with the A350-1000 ULR with a red stripe under the engine nacelle and removal Qantas wording from the lower hull of the aircraft?
