Finally, I got the chance to play at Royal Selangor Golf Club. I’ve wanted to play here for the longest time. It’s one of the most prestigious golf courses in Kuala Lumpur, with two courses: the Old Course and the New Course. Today, we played the Old Course. I was really excited because the last time I played a walking course was six years ago at Cameron Highlands. We teed off at 1 PM, and the weather was extremely hot with almost no wind, making it mentally challenging. Thankfully, the course is lined with large mature trees that provided plenty of shade from the sun. I was told that some of these trees are hundreds of years old. The tee boxes, fairways, and greens were all in excellent condition. The tee boxes were perfectly flat and well-maintained. The fairways were not too wide and not too narrow, but if you missed them, you could easily find yourself struggling around the massive trees. The greens are relatively small compared to many other golf courses, which adds to the challenge. Located right in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, the views are magnificent. The combination of lakes, mature trees, beautiful greens, and the surrounding concrete jungle makes for a truly memorable round. I didn’t play particularly well today because I was probably too excited about finally experiencing the course, but it was absolutely worth the money.
