After my second maternity leave, I knew I couldn’t go back. By the time we’d paid for childcare, fuel and everything else that comes with working, I’d have been left with barely anything. So I quit. No big savings. No plan. Just a mum who desperately wanted to be home with her children. But I’m not going to pretend it was easy. Being home came with its own struggles. Relying on one wage.
