Vibrations generated by the operation of subways and other transportation infrastructure are prone to induce obvious vertical vibrations in surrounding buildings, seriously impairing the comfort and physical health of indoor occupants. Lightweight components inside buildings such as steel screens, metal cup lids and decorative elements are even more likely to produce secondary noise due to resonance, causing severe interference. Meanwhile, many regions face high seismic risks, requiring strict guarantees for structural seismic safety during development and construction. The building seismic and vibration dual-control technology can effectively address the above issues and is of great significance for supporting urban TOD development. The building "seismic and vibration dual-control" technology independently developed by SafetyInside achieves dual control of structural vertical vibrations and seismic horizontal vibrations through seismic and vibration dual-control bearings integrated with vertical vibration isolation and horizontal seismic isolation modules, endowing buildings with both safety and comfort. 1. Vibration Comparison Test Technicians installed vertical excitation devices on the base slab of the seismic (vibration) isolation layer, and used measured subway vibration signals to simulate the indoor vibration of buildings at night and the vehicle entry condition in the throat area of the depot. In the test, jacks were arranged around the seismic and vibration dual-control bearings, and the vibration reduction effects of conventional buildings and dual-control buildings were compared under two states of jack lifting and unloading. When the jacks lifted the building, the attached aluminum foil vibrated significantly, the resonant iron plate produced obvious abnormal noise, and the maximum measured noise at indoor measuring points reached 77.6 decibels. After the jacks were unloaded, the seismic and vibration dual-control bearings started to work, the aluminum foil showed almost no vibration, the abnormal noise from the resonant iron plate nearly disappeared, and the maximum measured noise at indoor measuring points dropped to 65.5 decibels. After seismic isolation treatment, the vibration noise reduction reached 12.1 decibels, far lower than the national limit standard of 72 decibels, fully verifying the excellent seismic and vibration isolation performance of the dual-control bearings. 2. Seismic Simulation Test Horizontal shear force is the main cause of building damage caused by earthquakes. Technicians installed two sets of actuators in the north-south direction of the staircase, with one end connected to the piers of the seismic and vibration dual-control bearings and the other end fixed to the beam of the first floor. The actuators applied force to simulate seismic conditions and verify the seismic performance of the bearings. The seismic action loaded in this test was equivalent to the local seismic fortification intensity of 8 degrees (0.2g), and the loading frequency was matched with the natural vibration period of the structure after seismic isolation. From the test video, it can be clearly observed that the upper structure of the building performed a pendulum motion along the sliding surface of the bearings, achieving the seismic effect of "overcoming hardness with softness" for seismically isolated buildings.
