@cpap_sleep_coach: Ripping your CPAP off in a panic at 2am doesn’t mean you failed. It means your nervous system is doing exactly what it was designed to do. Here’s the reframe that changes everything. 🧵 Your brain learned to be on high alert around sleep and breathing — because for years, something was wrong while you slept. That alarm system doesn’t just turn off because you got a prescription. So when panic hits: take the mask off. Breathe. Calm down. Put it back on. That sequence — repeated over time — IS adaptation. That IS the work. The people who succeed with CPAP aren’t the ones who never panicked. They’re the ones who panicked and came back anyway. You’re not failing. You’re in the middle. I had a lot of panic in the beginning. It. Was. Scary. And I’ve had many other obstacles, but I did always come back. With the help of my psych meds, and my CPAP last night I slept for seven hours with only getting up one time and that hasn’t happened in years. Thank you for your guidance. I can’t tell you how helpful your account has been for me. 🙏

Let's eliminate the stigma. I've heard someone say "I've tried everything! " No you haven't because you didn't succeed!

I agree with this but also if you have sleep apnea it feels like suffocation before cpap, so that’s why the panic happened to me but now I sleep without panic or feeling suffocation
