I’ve worked 11-12 hour shifts in 105+ degree heat (oilfield) for the past 10 straight days without a day off and still get down on the ground in the living room to wrestle with my 6 year old son as soon as I get off because it makes him happy. That’s what it’s all about.

What makes someone a piece of shit father tho? If I go days sometimes without seeing my kids sometimes does that make me one? I work 12 hour shifts overnight and sometimes I’m still asleep when they are getting ready to go to bed and by the time I get home my wife has them out the door to daycare so she can get to work 😞 even if that doesn’t make me one I still feel like one. Every chance I get I’m playing with their favorite toys with them even if they don’t want me to play with them.

Worked w a guy that said his car wldnt make it 45 min south to get his kids on the weekend but it magically make it to the strip club 30 min north every fri sat and Sunday.

I agree. It's not difficult. some situations can be challenging. but overall it's extremely easy. in fact it's not a challenge and shouldnt be. You wanted to have a child, be a good dad. play, listen to them, answer their silly questions, love em. Even 30 minutes of your time focused on just them means the world.
