What a difference a year makes. This time last year, I was standing in my bathroom staring at a tiny blue line on a stick, recording this because I genuinely couldn’t believe what I was seeing. Pregnant!!! I had absolutely NO idea what was coming next. I didn’t know whether that tiny little line would become a viable pregnancy. I didn’t know what pregnancy would ask of my body, what birth would look like, how much I would worry, how much I would learn or how much I was about to change. And I definitely didn’t know that exactly one year later I’d be standing in my kitchen, dancing to Bollywood music with a mini me in my arms. That little blue line has a cute face now. She has the biggest smiles. Little rolls I could eat. Chunky little feet, a giggle that will make me melt and whole personality. She chats away to us, makes us laugh every single day and has approximately 400 nicknames… Milky being one of them. And somehow I grew her. When I watch that first video back, I almost want to tell that version of Anj....You have absolutely no idea what you’re capable of yet.Because this past year has probably been one of the hardest AND most beautiful of my life. Pregnancy challenged me. Birth challenged me. Motherhood continues to challenge me. I’ve discovered strength I didn’t know I had, but I’ve also discovered a softness in myself I don’t think I’d ever met before. And I’m still figuring out who this new version of me is. There have been moments I’ve struggled. Moments I’ve cried ALOT. Moments I’ve questioned myself and still do. And moments where I’ve looked at this tiny human and genuinely wondered how she was ever just two lines on a pregnancy test. But here we are. 27th August 2026: dancing around the kitchen with my little Windian baby! If the last year has taught me anything, it’s that you really have no idea how different your life can look 365 days from now. Sometimes the version of you standing at the beginning of a chapter has absolutely no idea just how much she’s about to grow. And I think there’s something quite beautiful about that. One year later. There you are - I love you. Love, Anj 💕
