I’ve sat on hiring panels we never considered the person who asked more questions more valuable. In fact I had one colleague that wouldn’t hire the person who asked all the questions and she would say this person going to live in HR with all them questions. The trick is asking the important questions not just questioning folks because you think you are making them feel special.

I did the same. Final question I asked in the interview was “If you could, think about your top tier, highest performing employee, what characteristics does he or she possess?” I was told by several people there that I had the best interview they’d ever done. 👍
