Continuation⏬️: “He’s perfect.”
Lena looked down at their son.
“He is.”
Miu smiled.
“No…”
She reached up and brushed a strand of hair from Lena’s face.
“We are.”
Lena’s heart, the one that intimidated boardrooms and billion-dollar negotiations, melted in an instant.
No headlines would ever write about this.
No magazine would call this success.
No award would be handed to them for lazy mornings, flour-covered counters, or a sleepy child curled safely against his mama.
Yet somehow…
This was the greatest thing either of them had ever built.
Their home wasn’t made of stone or glass.
It was made of sleepy cuddles before sunrise.
Chocolate-chip negotiations.
Sticky little hugs.
Shared laughter.
And love so ordinary…
…that it became extraordinary.
Lin stirred, blinking awake just enough to mumble,
“I love you, Mama…”
“I love you too, sweetheart.”
He turned his sleepy face toward Miu.
“I love you, Mommy…”
“I love you more than all the stars.”
He considered that with the seriousness only a child could.
“…That’s a lot.”
“It is.”
He smiled, satisfied, and drifted back to sleep between them.
Lena looked at Miu.
Miu looked back.
Neither of them said a word.
They didn’t have to.
Some stories are written with grand declarations.
Theirs was written with flour on the kitchen floor, tiny fingerprints on expensive clothes, weekend mornings in a bed that always felt too small for three, and a little voice calling out into the dawn…
“Mama… Mommy…”
…
and knowing, every single time, that they were already home.
