@zaras_locksfromlove: One thing I always tell people when it comes to dreadlocks and extensions… Sometimes something can be absolutely beautiful… and still not be the right fit for you. ✨🌿 For a while now I’ve been wearing some of my beautiful full Lux loose hair ends around the front of my face. And don’t get me wrong… these ends are absolutely stunning. They create incredible fullness, gorgeous movement, and such a beautifully dramatic look. But… I kept noticing the same thing every time I wore them in the front. They were simply too heavy for me. Because of the extra fullness and weight, when I moved they would constantly pull forward into my face, shift differently than I wanted, and I just wasn’t loving the flow and movement they created around my face. So I decided to make a little adjustment. I replaced them while still keeping the same overall look I love… those beautiful soft wavy ends… but I downsized just enough to create a much lighter, more functional version that moves so much more naturally for my personal preference. And that’s the important part. This does NOT mean the fuller Lux ends are bad. Not even close. In fact, they are absolutely gorgeous and I still wear them throughout the back of my hair because I love the volume and drama they create. But around my face? I’ve learned I personally prefer something lighter. And I think this is such an important reminder when it comes to custom dreadlocks. What works beautifully for one person may not feel right for another. Hair is personal. Movement matters. Comfort matters. Function matters. And sometimes the smallest adjustments create the biggest difference in how confident and comfortable you feel wearing your set. Customization will always matter more than copying someone else’s look.
