@anactualhuman0: When emotions feel distant or muted, it can be a sign of depersonalization or derealization. This video explains why emotional distance happens and how it functions as a protective mechanism. #MentalHealth #dissociation #backrooms #movie #horror

Many who have dissociative symptoms describe feeling disconnected from what they feel.
I you have ever experienced this what feelibg fits your experience better?

Caitlin :
I’m curious if there are any forms of dissociation that are considered healthy? I was talking to a friend recently about having at least 2 different forms of dissociative experiences. There’s the “I am not safe to respond emotionally so my brain shut down the emotional response center” dissociation and the “I’m safe but tired and don’t have the energy to process the emotions of the day so I’ll just… stop trying to process anything for today” dissociation. Like both put distance between my emotions and my outward response to them but one is distressing and one is just letting my brain rest for a couple hours.

I always thought I was just disassociating like a lot of other people. Apparently not. I have depersonalization derealization disorder and it's really starting to mess with me.
