@phlmyplate: "You can't beat a Philly woman" - we know that's right ! We had the honor of celebrating 50 years of @womenagainstabuse st their annual Dish it Up event where women chefs come together to compete. This is also a night of raising awareness and supporting the amazing work that @womenagainstabuse do every single day. Some facts that really stood out to us was that they answered 11,566 calls through the domestic violence hotline, and over 10,311 people benefited from their services this year. This is hard work and this organization continues to show up for women and families in Philly. We were honored to be able to celebrate this work and continue to spread awareness of the resources available in #philadelphia As for the food, the dessert from Chef Katie Hughes @highstreetphl was insanely amazing, the Mac and cheese & jerk chicken from Chef Dawn Frazier @detailsbymsdawn was outstanding, and the bao bun from chef Karla Torres of La Ingrata was excellent.
