@offenceregister: Awet Solomon West Drayton Rapist Awet Solomon, the West Drayton Rapist, was given a six-year and nine-month prison sentence in 2023 for sexually abusing a woman in the City of London on New Year's Day. The woman was attacked by 24-year-old Awet Solomon when she got off a bus on Mansell Street, which is next to the Tower of London, and headed for Whitechapel High Street. He dragged her against her will into an alley, beat her, strangled her, and then sexually raped her. The victim reported the escape of an unknown person, Awet Solomon, to the police, which led to the start of an investigation on January 1. Within 36 hours of the report, he was arrested, charged, and imprisoned. Awet Solomon, a resident of Bath Road in West Drayton, was sentenced at Inner London Crown Court on Tuesday after admitting guilt to charges of rape, strangling, and real bodily injury. The woman worked closely with specialised police, according to Detective Superintendent Richard Waight of the City of London Police. He thanked the victim for helping with this inquiry and for showing incredible bravery and resilience in disclosing such a heinous assault. The City of London Police are extremely sensitive in their investigations and take allegations of rape and sexual offences very seriously. "Throughout every stage of the investigation, we will trust you, listen intently, and offer support, making every effort to ensure the perpetrator is held accountable." I applaud everyone who worked on this crime investigation. Their perseverance and hard work have improved the city's safety. #AwetSolomon #WestDraytonRapist #AwetSolomonWestDrayton #CityofLondon
