If Nesta has one fan it’s me. If Nesta has no fans I’m dead. Like I fucking love her sooooo much! Like I always root for the anti hero like I love that she isn’t the typical fmc who we’re supposed to like. But we have to learn to love her.

Definitely think having a sister plays in to how you view Nesta. I know my older sister would NEVER treat me the way she treats Feyre and that 100% plays in to me not liking her character.

I love your reviews girl, especially the long ones! your pace is so entertaining and easy to follow. it feels like im right there reading it again with you haha. I was finishing this series when you had put your acofas review up, and was wondering how you would think of this one. I also have started TOG and have been flying through the books it's definitely a different feel from Acotar so be prepared lol. it is really good just almost no romance and more slow paced story building. cant wait to see what you think!

I have major issues with Nesta and the way she moves with her sisters. I’m the oldest of 3 girls as well and it’s rubbed me the wrong way since book 1. I kept waiting for it to make sense but while I understand her, I don’t like her.

I think Nesta is one of the best-written characters in ACOTAR because she’s deeply flawed, emotionally complex, and undergoes one of the most compelling redemption arcs in the series. Her treatment of Feyre and, at times, Elain is undeniably cruel and isn’t something I’d defend. But what makes her so interesting is that Sarah J. Maas doesn’t excuse that behaviour—she explores the trauma, shame, and self-loathing behind it, while still holding Nesta accountable. Watching her gradually choose healing, vulnerability, and sacrifice is what makes her character so rewarding.

SJM truly seems to be making this stuff up as she goes but I still enjoy the story for what it is like you said. Pls post about your TOG reading experience! It suffers from many of the same issues I had with ACOTAR but is really enjoyable!

I agree with your assessment of this book 1000%. Truthfully, your journey was so close to my own it brought back all the frustrations. I can understand Nesta, but I still don’t like her. I feel like she lacks self-awareness and I just can’t condone her level of meanness. That being said, I’m eager to see more from her in the future. I hope her healing journey continues.

Never revisiting Balthazar has haunted me since I read this book! He clearly has some degree of importance to the story like is he a secret son of one of the bat boys???
