The demon regretted it instantly, wishing he should have kept his mouth shut for longer than a few seconds.    "Wemmbu," the doctor whispered, it sounded brittle in the demon's ears.    "Sorry, I just… I wasn't supposed to say that. I don't mean it I—"   "Wemmbu."    "I– I'm sorry. Minute– Haha… I don't know what's going on with me."   Wemmbu shouldn't have left this morning. He should give up, go home, apologize to Minute about everything and finally stop talking to anyone unless he's able to pick himself up.   "You're not the only one who lost someone," the doctor finally said, something cracked in the middle of that park– and it wasn't the frozen pond nor the icicles under the trees and the roofs.   He knew he was speaking nonsense, his mouth running wild before his mind could ever catch up. Minute was there when Egg died, he was there to help with the funeral and he was always there ever since the beginning. He expected Minute to be angry. Wemmbu envisioned an angry Minutetech, with his iconic exasperated sigh and a hand scrunching his nose bridge.
