@drstephensanders: You’re not old at 40. You’re just at the age where your excuses start showing up in your body. The story you tell yourself matters. If you keep saying, “I’m washed up,” you’ll start living like a man who is. If you keep saying, “It’s too late,” you’ll stop doing the things that would prove otherwise. But 40 is not the end. For a lot of men, it’s the wake-up call. You finally have enough life experience to know what matters. Enough pain to stop wasting time. Enough wisdom to quit chasing approval. Enough urgency to start taking your health seriously. And here’s something most men need to hear: It’s okay to be misunderstood. It’s okay to be disliked. It’s okay to outgrow people who only knew the old version of you. Protect your peace. Trust your instincts. Do the work. Stay the course. Maybe you didn’t peak in your teens. Maybe you didn’t peak in your 20s. Maybe your 30s humbled you. Good. Maybe your strongest, healthiest, clearest, most dangerous version is still ahead. But it won’t happen by accident. You have to build him.
