I have a horrible habit of not returning the questions. Like if asked questions like "how are you doing?" "What did you do this weekend?" "what are your plans for the holidays?" I'll answer and forget to ask the other person back. Yet let a sever tell me "enjoy your food!" and I'll respond "Thanks! You too!" 🤦🏻‍♀️What is wrong with me? 😂

It's great advice. But I feel that most people only want to talk about themselves. 9/10 conversations I have is me listening to someone brag about their lives. Kinda sucks to listen to buy Im a nice guy so I act intrigued.

I’m very boring but it works for me, ha ha. I would rather listen anyway than try to think of something to say.

Often, when I’m sharing a story, comment or thought, somebody (often my husband) will interrupt me with a loud voice and carry on as if I wasn’t even speaking. I’m left to think that I am either not important or I suck at speaking & sharing stories. Occasionally someone with awareness will notice and say, “Oh finish your story” or “What were you speaking about?” I get that it takes skill to be a good storyteller and I wonder 3 things: Am I not interesting to listen? Or, how do I create a dialogue that people actually want to hear? Lastly, how do I respond to the person that interrupts?

I’m currently trying to learn German to talk to my six-year-old niece. 😭 My vocabulary is extremely limited and sometimes I switched to Spanish. Hopefully one day our conversations can be more exciting
