Meanwhile, my Gi specialist doesn’t even test for sibo saying the testing isn’t reliable. He says most people with IBS probably do have it. After 6 years I’m ready to get help

I have done xifaxan 3 times and berberine once for a duration of 4 MONTHS.. still came back after each time 😅 yes we’re trying to find the underlying reason for reoccurrence. I never had issues until a round of flagyl in 2024.

Why is it so difficult to get a test for sibo? Doctors fight tooth and nail not to test me🥺

Yes! I’ve been on 500mg of berberine for 3 months now and I’m noticing a difference! I went to up my dose a month ago and became nauseous. When should I increase? Also is it true that you shouldn’t be on it for more than 6 months? Thank you 🙏🏼

Thank you for being an actual doctor talking about SIBO. Most of the “doctors” talking about this are chiropractors. 😒

If it’s a hair apart then I’m picking the natural one every time.

Daughter tested positive for sibo. Then had endo surgery and hopefully that improved motility. Does she still need to treat her sibo or will it go away and improve with the surgery. So far (four months post op) she’s much better but does still have occasional constipation and bloating .

What are you using to regrow the microbiome after killing everything off? Is there a protocol?

Excellent points. The confidence level of the performance is equally as important, but rarely makes it into the news.

gastro dietitian here. in almost every patient I consulted with SIBO treated with Rifaximin, the symptoms came back when the antibiotics stopped. it's good to know there's an alternative.
