@ninatheplantmum: How to plant tomatoes 🍅 Here’s some tips for growing tomatoes that I’ve learnt as a beginner: 🍅 When they’re ready to plant out, rip off the lower branches and bury the stem. New roots will grow out of the stem and you’ll get a bigger stronger plant! 🍅 don’t let your leaves touch the soil as it can pick up diseases. I savagely pull off the branches whenever they start to dip within a couple of inches of the soil! Especially as the plant gets bigger 🍅 keep them well watered they’re thirsty afffff 🍅 if you see a leaf that looks a bit weird just rip the branch off. dw they’re so resilient you won’t kill it, it will keep growing big and strong and its not worth risking the leaf turning into a disease that affects the whole plant 🍅 plant marigolds around it to deter pests 🍅 plant basil around it to deter pests but also to make the tomatoes taste even sweeter! 🍅 water at the soil, try not to get the leaves wet. Otherwise they might get fungal diseases lol 🍅 give them a feed if you want.
