THE SPRINKLING OF NGMA AT THE GRAND DURBAR The sprinkling of Ngma (millet) is an important ritual associated with Ngmayem that takes place at the Grand Durbar. It carries deep historical, cultural and spiritual significance. The ritual forms part of the traditions through which the community expresses thanksgiving and connects the present generation with the heritage and traditions passed down from their ancestors. The Grand Durbar is not only a celebration. It is also an opportunity to preserve, document and showcase the history, traditions and identity of the people of Dodowa for present and future generations. Through these cultural celebrations, traditions are kept alive, while younger generations are given the opportunity to learn about and appreciate the heritage of their people. Our ancestors.
