understand the point obviously but this is not a great example, if you actually saw 100% 6’s following 3’s in the long run then at some point you have to start assuming the die is loaded, better example would be like 25% of the time which is just spurious. Also why walk forward testing is important

I hear you but your analogy is flawed. You can stil use a pattern to your advantage. If you find and backtest a "pattern" that works like you say 800 of a 1000 times. Risk to reward 1:3 even 1:5. You will make money. Even if you have a long loss streak eventually in the long term you will profit. You will always lose correct but your wins make up for it 😁

the thing is that dice rolls are objectively independent events, while price action depends on many other things such as orderflow and macros

you're not wrong but guess what, trading is like weather prediction, thru their own analysis and data they can give probabilities of what the weather conditions will be,it's a game of probabilities

Your making sense, I think understanding independent events that move the price to begin with will put you in a better position for a certain bias, wether up or down. In simple terms!

Basically the stats show you will lose more than you win in the long run. Which ultimately means, the more trades you do, the more losses you going to amass.

If the market was fully random, there would be no top performing indexes, companies wouldnt need to deliver results and the entire market would essentially be buyer vs seller (still not random) or are you implying only planc length time frame with this video?
