Montessori toys don’t light up and don’t make music with buttons. Rule of thumb if it needs batteries it’s not Montessori.

I recall both a binomial cube and a trinomial cube in my Montessori pre-school back in the 1970's. That doesn't seem to satisfy some of your conditions. For example, it seems to lack "isolation of a difficulty". Were those non-Montessori items in the school I attended?

One of the knobbed cylinders in my Montessori classroom broke when I was a kid, so my dad volunteered to carve a new one on his lathe that he apparently had. Big practical life skills guy.
