3 is generous. I've tried more. 2 is absolute maximum now

the fact that you have an actually intellectual understanding of this shows you employ this tactic. you're the first person in general that I've seen outside of my fiancé that knows and uses this. you get a follow. have a wonderful day.

“Training another to withhold understanding” - indeed limit the attempts and seek another way to resolve.

It’s not about making someone understand, it’s about convincing them that what you are saying has a intrinsic value, produces an effect, and scale of the effect. Most of the people get it perfectly and try to deflect it if it’s about them or their own perception or actions, feel attacked by being confronted and will refuse even to admit, as you said, rather than getting a hurt ego, or being required to change a perception or behaviour. Normally it’s useless to explain it three times in a similar manner, and the approach matters the most here, starting with a familiar, friendly attitude, then making comparisons between their perceptions/actions to a person they know and despise or hate, and raise in tension until their ego starts to shatter just reconsider the value of a thought reevaluation

I just had exactly one of these conversations a few days back. They just wanted to argue and win a fight. They took it to an entirely different conversation, related subject matter, but not what I was talking about. I restated what I was talking about and asked them why they went where they went. They doubled down and got really hot having this argument with themselves and who knows who else because it wasn't the subject we were talking about. 😂😂😂
