@6.19coaching: That weekend wasn’t wild nights, hangovers or trying to recover by Monday. It was walks around Quarriers Village, time with family, laughs, good food and making memories I’ll actually remember. A few years ago, I probably would’ve thought weekends like this sounded boring. Now, I realise this is exactly what I’ve been working towards. Getting fitter isn’t just about losing weight or building muscle. It’s about having the energy to say yes to adventures, being present with the people you love and showing up as the best version of yourself. I pack so much into these weekends because none of us know how many we get. I want my family to remember me as someone who was there. Someone who had the energy to play, explore, laugh and make memories alongside them. Health and fitness gave me that. So if you’re putting yourself to the bottom of the list, thinking looking after yourself is selfish, I’d argue it’s the opposite. The stronger, healthier and happier you become, the more of yourself you have to give to the people who matter most. Build the body but don’t forget why you’re building it. For me, it’s this.
