I’m on month three… But I fortunately just got hired by Costco and they have amazing health insurance and benefit benefits and give raises pretty often as well. It’s nowhere from what I was making before, but just thankful to have something in the works.!

You should already have built all the connections by 40…most professionals at that age don’t really need a resume to get hired…it’s all referrals

40 is easy. at 50 it takes almost a full year of interviews. nobody wants to pay you what youre worth if they can have a cheaper 40 yr old with similar experience

Wife lost her job December of 2025. 500 plus applications in four different nearby states, not a single call back. Worst economy in my 43 year life, including 2008…we are beyond fucked now that her unemployment is up.

Search hospitals jobs for Monitor or Telemetry tech. Most hospitals will train you. I've been a tech for 23 years. Now most tele jobs are in a office building centralized. May also be under Virtual Monitor depending on hospital. Do it for a year get your certs and you can do it at home.

I got laid off in September 2025. I found a job in a different field in June. I’m over 50 and it’s tough to even get a response. Keep the faith. There’s beauty in the struggle. It’s very difficult to see it when you’re in it, but remember the story of Job. I pray all those who are struggling find your strength and peace. Lean on family and friends. God bless you all.
