@crowdsourcecarrie: I DREAD these phone calls. 👏Every 👏single 👏time! My dad is in so deep. I feel like all of our conversations are fake, not authentic and frankly, down right mean. I was raised to be silent. Phone calls like this give me “pre-headaches” for days and “post-headaches” for even longer. It used to make me feel very angry. Now, it makes me extremely sad. How can I be from a family that believes in this? I feel alone. I feel scared. It’s a bad feeling to be 50, (even though I was 40 when it started,) to know you cannot call your parents for any sort of comfort. I just keep telling myself “one foot in front of the other.” Just like I’ve made it through everything else on my own, I will get through this..alone. I’m choosing to feel better tonight.
