I think we just found the most underrated place on Vancouver Island…. 🫢 👋🏼 Follow @thenomadicsweethearts for more Canada travel inspo! This spot was voted one of the top 50 best beaches in the world and one of the only two to make the list in all of North America! 🤯 What makes this place so incredible is the giant sea stacks with bonsai-like trees sitting on the top of each rock. It really felt like a scene from Avatar exploring the stacks, and if you time it right, you’ll even be able to explore some sea caves! You will want to do this as a day trip, planning to stay in Port Hardy. From Port Hardy its a 2-hour drive down a logging road. I would suggest going on the weekend so you don’t need to worry about logging trucks, but don’t take the trip lightly, logging roads are gravel and full of rough potholes, so only go if your vehicle can handle it. You could camp on the beach with backcountry camping permits for an unreal experience. Once you get to the parking lot, its a 45-minute hike to reach the beach. The hike goes through the rainforest and is absolutely magical! ❗This park is home to bears, wolves & cougars, so bring bear spray, make noise and NEVER leave food scraps or garbage behind. Pack everything out and leave no trace. You will need to check the tide charts before you go, as low tide is the best time to appreciate the size of the sea stacks and allows you explore the caves. This place can be visited year-round, but would be best in the summer as the trail gets very muddy during winter. This is San Josef Bay in Cape Scott Provincial Park on Vancouver Island, Canada! 🛻💨Save for planning & send to the person you want to visit with! #canadahiddengems #vancouverislandroadtrip #vancouverislandguide
