It's because Singapore has AC in most buildings, and the UK doesn't. You get no place to cool off in-between being outside.

It's because Europe, with few exceptions, haven't realised that this is only gonna get worse. We need to switch our infrastructure to help get rid of this heat. I'd rather pay 10% more for heating so that I'm not forced to have a 5x higher electricity bill for the cooling of my home.
