One thing I’ve come to realize is that most of the disappointment we experience in life doesn’t always come from people changing on us… sometimes it comes from us ignoring the signs they showed us from the very beginning. We hear certain words, we notice certain actions, we see the red flags clearly, but because we want things to go the way we imagined, we choose to overlook them. We give people chances they never asked for, create expectations they never promised to meet, and then act surprised when they disappoint us.
