Using validated technologies such as @vald_performance allows clinicians and patients to clearly identify strength deficits, movement asymmetries, and limb-to-limb differences that are not always visible on observation. These objective measures provide a transparent basis for discussing readiness to progress, return-to-sport decisions, and ongoing risk management. Rehabilitation plans must therefore be amended and adapted in response to these findings, targeting specific weaknesses and asymmetries as they evolve, rather than following generic or time-driven protocols. Progression based purely on elapsed time risks under-loading key deficits or over-loading inadequately prepared tissue, increasing the likelihood of re-injury or suboptimal outcomes. Working with a physiotherapist who uses objective data to guide progression ensures rehabilitation is individualised, responsive, and aligned with the patient’s goals, promoting safer return to activity and better long-term knee health.
