@lexidpratt: Before I started this page, I remember wishing there was more content on conflict resolution. So much happens behind the scenes in marriages that we never see. We watch happy couples on Instagram divorce seemingly out of nowhere. The secrecy doesn’t help anyone. Imagine if instead, you turned to trusted friends when things got rocky, and they actually strengthened your marriage? I have friends like that. Every time we talk, I leave a better wife. That’s how it was always meant to be. So what’s the anatomy of a conflict? This one resolved in under 5 minutes. It very well could have turned into days of silent treatment. 1. State your case & listen to theirs. Create an environment where feelings are safe and received. He told me how he felt. I accepted it and shared my side, without brushing off his experience. 2. Agree, disagree, or counter. In a respectful marriage, the answer is always counter. Never “I’m 100% right and you’re wrong.” Always “I see your side. Here’s mine. Here’s where we go next.” 3. You need BOTH a physical resolution AND an emotional one. It can’t just be “okay, I’ll do better next time” and then you walk away. Your body needs to process it too: a hug, a laugh, a repair, a bedroom sesh;) We are physical beings. Emotions move through the body, not just the mind. 4. Repair attempts. The Gottmans say repair attempts are one of the strongest predictors of long-term marriage success. An inside joke, a silly face, something that brings connection back after you’ve taken each other seriously. We’ve been practicing this for 4 years and not every conversation ends this simply. Have grace for yourself and your partner. Don’t tolerate disrespect. And give your marriage the time it needs to grow. The mess is what makes it art. 🤍 Lead with curiosity, not judgment. Always. Your friend, Lexi

he felt insecure and inadequate, he communicated that to his partner in a non agressive way, and they made up seems pretty healthy to me. if thats a toddler then we're all toddlers at times 🤷‍♀️

Yall clearly don’t love your partners and it shows. His feelings were hurt, regardless of what she did, it hurt his feelings. She apologized for that. Neither of them are in the wrong. She just acknowledged how he feels and helped him feel better

he specifically said it was her tone. it wasn't about the bag, it was her saying, "what are you doing" in the tone she said it, and THAT'S what she apologized for. I think this was a great video! tone ABSOLUTELY matters when we're talking to people, whether you're right or wrong, it's never what you say, it's HOW you say it! this depicted that perfectly

she didn't apologise for doing it correctly, she's apologising for hurting his feelings. we all get hurt over little things and those little things stack up and dont get resolved if they're not brung up. it was resolved very quickly, if this isn't healthy to you then clearly your partner has different needs

The whole point of conflict resolution is to listen to each others feelings. No one did anything wrong, but feelings were hurt and they came together to resolve. These comments are infuriating
