Ooh, this journey… 🥹 Looking at my younger self, I see a little girl who always dreamed of becoming a nurse. She had no idea how many obstacles she would face, but that dream never left her. My journey began at Compton College in 2012. After successfully completing my science prerequisites, I was accepted into the ADN program. I was doing well and felt like my dream was finally coming together. Then I experienced a setback that left me devastated. An instructor told me I was being failed because of how I organized my papers. My family and I tried to challenge the decision, but I felt unheard and unsupported. Without an opportunity to remediate, I was dismissed from the program. I remember wondering, “What am I going to do now?” Eventually, I moved to the Inland Empire and enrolled in the LVN program at 4D College in San Bernardino. I was determined: nobody was going to stop me from becoming a nurse. But toward the end of our program, the school closed without warning. We showed up to take our exit exam and couldn’t even get into the building. Devastated all over again, I questioned my calling. “Lord, maybe You don’t want me to be a nurse.” Me and my classmates got in contact with the boards and asked to challenge the boards to get our Lvn license and by the GRACE of GOD we were accepted to challenge the boards. I became a Lvn ..and was ok with just that becuase I was working in Kiaser making great money BUT GOD.. Then my beautiful friend Sam encouraged me to try again. She said, “Let’s go back to school. Let’s become RNs and get our bachelor’s degrees.” I told her, “Girl, I’m so over trying.” But she kept encouraging me, and we set our sights on West Coast University. I didn’t know how I would afford it, but by the grace of God, a way opened. I got into West Coast University, made it through, and earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Today, I am a registered nurse, and as I look back , I wonder why the Lord gave me the strength and grace to keep going … I don’t know who needs this, but KEEP GOING. A setback does not have to be the end of your story. Don’t let someone else’s decision make you give up on the dream God placed in your heart.Hes the ONLY one who knows what he has called you too. Stay focused. Stay prayed up. Talk to God, even when you’re hurt, tired, or questioning the path. He has the final say. Let Jeremiah 29:11 remind you of hope, and Isaiah 41:10 remind you that God is with you. That little girl’s dream is still unfolding and I’m Extremely proud of the woman she became. 🤎✨ My story is still being written❤️Moe
