@themindfultattooist: A little bit of a less polished video here, but it's worth mentioning - just a few thoughts about the use of AI imagery for reference material for tattoos. Is it cool to see what's in a client's mind? Of course. But are these images possible to tattoo? Usually not. Here's an explanation I recorded a couple days ago with no edits and in a single take that hopefully explains some stuff in a logical and objective way. Questions? Drop them in the comments! #rosesandrivets805
Yeh I’m luck with my tattoo studio that I go to. I struggle to describe things that I like so they let me show them AI pics of ideas I like and then they can design one that is in that theme and style which is what I love about them. Like I was wanting a mechanical goth style tattoo on the side of my head showed them an Ai version and they designed this for me it’s not finished yet but loving it so far

People are dumb. “Reference” is key here, not a color printer. I just booked with a very well known artist who is up front and said he used AI for generating ideas. I don’t expect what I see on a screen to be reproduced on my skin. But, when I say I have an idea and can’t sketch it out for an artist both of us using AI as “a tool” for collaboration is extremely useful.

Side note - you showed up on my FYP, thought you were cool, then popped over to your insta and saw you’re a 99! You should do a pop up event at AirVenture in Oshkosh next month lol I would be first in line!

I’m going to listen to my artist. I’m good as long as it captures my idea

I have my main theme, find pictures of real tattoos with elements I like and trust my artist.

I have both - I have people send me ai generated reference, who are willing to listen to me and let me create a design based on it that will work well as a tattoo.

Side note, I’m super impressed that your profile pic is in near perfect alignment with your teal frame on the wall in this video

I seriously just use Ai to get my idea out of my head since I can't draw. but I am definitely not going expect the artist to follow it. I definitely think AI can be over the top

I’m learning to draw flash designs and working hard to master the old school traditional style. Simple is the key 😊. For now, I’m still an apprentice, but in the future I hope to become a skilled traditional tattoo artist. If people want an AI generated tattoo, I tell them to go to the robot next door. 😄

usually never have a reference photo, I'll tell the artist what I want and let them come up with the idea, they're the artist not me lol

I sometimes give my artist an AI reference, but I know she will rework it into something awesome

I actually replied to a recent video of yours around AI images. (Bee on Vacation). The next Tattoo I believe I would like to to pursue is a tired turtle grim reaper on my left pec. However instead of sending the full collage with the 2 AI images. I now plan to just send the skeleton reference and just say turtle. I believe I'll be happier overall. thanks to your guidance.
