Everyone (no matter the denomination) expects their brothers and sisters to be perfect all the time. We all seem to forget that we are sinners. Should we strive to live correctly? Yes! Are we going to fail at some point? Yes! The important part is to examine our hearts and head to confession for reconciliation!

Living in shame for my past sins kept me away from our church for so many years.... Because there is nothing ppl hate more than to see a reformed sinner finding their way back to Christ! They hate it! As soon as I came back to my Catholic faith I was criticized and shamed. But when I was on the wrong path NO one loved me enough to set me right!

Ah this resonates. I got pregnant out of wedlock and felt so ashamed. Our priest was willing to marry us but I felt so unworthy. Looking back I just want to give that girl a hug. It all worked out and now my kids go to mass with me every Sunday but man. I understand.

I had my oldest daughter when I was 21, with a man I barely knew and ended up breaking up with in the 4th month of said pregnancy. She was a blessing sent from God. She changed my life and made me actually hold myself accountable. She brought me closer to God. He truly does meet us in our mess. We’re human. We are sinners. But we’re still met with so much grace. I was TERRIFIED my first day walking into RCIA in 2019. But I was met with hugs from strangers and a love I’ve never experienced before.
