Soooo the DOT actually has strict rules regarding these delays and at the 4 hour mark they should have provided an opportunity to deplane. Updates every 30 minutes from crew should have happened as well. File a complaint.

That is so unsafe. In the uk if you’re on the plane more than 2 hours they need to get everyone back off the plane why would they keep you sitting 6 hours and then cancel the flight anyway just wasted everyone’s time

As a Flight Attendant just know we try our hardest to get you guys off the plane if we know it’s going to keep delaying . It’s not us the gate agents or the pilots who make the call . It’s Air traffic control . Sometimes they keep you guys on in hope of being all boarded up and ready to go if weather breaks . Sorry for your experience.
