What happens if there is a 6-month gap between the lead applicant becoming eligible for ILR and the dependant completing their 5-year qualifying period? For example, if the lead applicant obtains ILR now, but the dependant still needs another 6 months to complete the 5-year residence requirement, the dependant would need to apply for a dependant visa extension. As I understand it, this extension is usually granted for 3 years. In this situation: 1. Can the dependant apply for ILR as soon as they complete the remaining 6 months and reach the 5-year qualifying period? 2. If the dependant is granted ILR after only 6 months of a 3-year dependant visa extension, can they receive a refund of the unused Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS)? 3. Are any other visa application fees refundable, or is only the unused portion of the IHS refundable? I would appreciate clarification on how this works in practice.

What about dependent visa valid till iLr qualification, like my friend iLr due 2027 whereas his dependent iLr due on 2028 but she has valid visa till 2029, does she need to apply for extension?

If the child born outside the UK but lived in the UK for 5 years as a skilled worker dependent so can we register him as British citizen if one of the parents gets ILR as Skilled worker?
