I lived in Israel in the 90s. We had skuds coming over. We were issued gas masks. Bomb disposal ROVs were blowing up everything that was left for 5mins. EL AL would pull your bags apart. Girls went through a fad of wearing slippers on a night out. Tel Aviv was just about being turned into the city it is today. It was a wild time to be there. Israel is still there, a lot longer than Saddam Hussien was.
