exactly. my brother is t1d and he hates trying to explain to his what is going on. his a1c is up and then down and we can't keep it below 7 so he can get a pump. it's frustrating that they aren't listening

That Kid :
My endocrinologist of five years thought that I was a type two diabetic because of how erratic my blood sugars are and no matter what we do to try to fix it it does not work only recently did she do her own blood work just to come to the conclusion that I am, in fact, type one diabetic Same as every doctor before her.

I quit using an endocrinologist a couple of years ago. I now see a PCP who is T1 and the care and understanding is next level better.

I mean. Ideally, YES! But there are so few of them already, let’s not limit the field further. My son’s Endo has worked at diabetes camps for years to help understand better how diabetes impacts her patients on the day to day and we appreciate that so much!

I might be the minority, but I had an Endo for several years as a Peds who was also T1D, and he was by far the WORST.

I always wanted to be a physician… specifically a podiatrist. Never pursued it for one reason or another . But now I’d love to become an endocrinologist

I was diagnosed at 7, I was blessed with 15 beautiful years with an endo who had type one herself. I miss her, she ended up retiring.

I went into court reporting.. but if I could do it all again, I’d go into endocrinology. Not to mention there’s a lack of endos out there and it’s hard to find good ones.
