Dr. Howard is a foundational figure in AI history, having contributed to autonomous robotics years before artificial intelligence became a mainstream conversation. After NASA, she developed SnoMote robots to study Antarctic ice shelves and co-founded Zyrobotics, a company creating therapeutic technology for children with disabilities. She was named to Forbes' Top 50 Women in Tech and is now the 12th president of Spelman College — the first scientist and engineer ever to lead the institution.
