Turnovers come with the position and role. As the primary ballhandler and point guard, your job is to make things happen, bring the ball up, run the offense, create opportunities for teammates, and take the tough shots when needed. She's the playmaker. The more the ball is in your hands, the more points and assists you can create, but also the more chances there are for turnovers. That's just basketball. When the shot clock is winding down, they're not looking at the role players and saying, "Make something happen." They're looking at CC. Trae Young has been at or near the top of the NBA in turnovers for years, yet he's also averaged around 25+ points and 10+ assists because he's the offensive engine for his team. The same principle applies to Caitlin Clark. If you're creating most of the offense, turnovers come with the territory.

Kelsey Mitchell should be point guard once she’s faster as she’s better. She doesn’t need all the blocks to get a shot. She can make her own shot.

8 assists is 16 to 24 points. the 4 turnovers are a "possible" -12. 4 assists is 8 to 12 points with 1 TO being a possible -3. it's obvious, give me 8 assists with 4 turnovers.

I guess it boils down to are you a CC fan or Fever fan? If you are a CC you don't care about the turnovers you want to see the highlight. If you are a fever fan then you want her to protect the ball and increase her shooting percentage so the team can be successful.

People are box score watching and not watching the games. Someone pointed to me a couple of weeks ago that she had 5 TOs and I said well, if you watched the game you would know she had 3 offensive fouls which is 3 of her turnovers and they got mad lol

If you see her turnovers, the majority of them are passes that her teammates can’t handle. If they were able to complete the passes, her assists would increase and turnovers would decrease. Maybe she just needs better players around her?

Fouls received when you have the ball is a turnover and some of those fouls I find questionable or right out wrong. How can you fix those kind of turnovers?

8 and 4, no questions asked. a turnover is a potential shot for the other team, an assist is actual points on the board. I would honestly prefer 8 and 4 over 4 and 0. one generates 8-12 points, the other generates 16-24 points and it's very unlikely they get 12 points from that. 40% from 3 is considered great so on 4 turnovers if the opponent team shot only 3's they would likely only get 6-10 points meaning on average 8-4 is better than 4-0.

A turnover can be a 4 or 5 point swing. Assist is kind of relative because because if I pass you the ball and make the shot. What did I do that was so special. While I’m trying and looking for an assist I become a ball stopper.

Don't forget to factor in that caitlin has two or three guards on her when she is trying to handle the ball! Also I have noticed that sometimes the post player she is passing to doesn't step forward and catch the call!

Diana Taurasi Only average 2,7 TO with good defense , Catlin Clark have 5,3 TO and bad defense thats make her team difficult to won championship,even theyre won cup last season without CC

Thomas is 8 assist and 3.8 turnovers. CC is 2 in assists and 3 in points scored. Her style is high tempo. The Fever have 3 players in the top 15 for points scored. The Fever is the only team to have two players on the top 5.

exactly. they actually dont watch games ro see how amazing her passes are, and which ones are TOs, because some are not failed passes and most dont end up giving up points, they just look at stat line to find something to hate on.

I hate it when people think about her tos without considering that she's a point guard. She has the ball all the time, so it's normal that she loses it more often. She tries a lot of risky passes, so it's normal that she misses them sometimes.

People forget that LeBron has the most turnovers in NBA history but also has a lot of assists because of how much he runs the offense. The more you handle the ball and create shots for others the more turnovers you are going to have
