@missclairebenjamin: How to handle receiving difficult feedback….. Receiving difficult feedback is a real skill. Not only can you not control how the other person delivers the message, difficult feedback can also trigger feelings of shame and rejection. When we’re in touch with these uncomfortable feelings it can lead us to become defensive, shut down, or start trying to please like I demonstrate in the first part of this clip. One of the most powerful skills to learn is being able to receive feedback without collapsing or fighting back. This can only be achieved when we have our own back. When we have our own back we can acknowledge where we went wrong and see it as an opportunity for growth not self attack. From that place we will automatically shift the dynamic with the person delivering the feedback as demonstrated in the second half of this clip. What do you think of the second approach shown in this video? I’d love to hear in the comments. 📌 Please remember the advice offered in this video is generalised and will not fit every situation. Therefore, please use your own judgement when using this advice and adapt it to suit your situation. ➕ Follow Claire Benjamin for more tips on navigating tricky work dynamics #worktips #difficultconversations #emotionalintelligence #assertivecommunication #leadershipdevelopment
That’s not feedback. Feedback refers to comments on what someone did and how it can be improved. The comment refers to what the client will do and the manager is just venting their upset. Keep feedback focused on actions and explain how choosing another action might lead to more favourable outcomes.

Ash Liz 😈🔥 :
This is giving criticism - there are no specifics about what the client didn’t like or what they were looking for, there is no information given about where to focus energy moving forward, and there is no conversation about what is in her control and what isn’t.
