@lifeof.ellavallance: Part 2: turning a clawfoot bathtub into an outdoor wood fired tub! This was a super fun project and the results have been so good. Once hot, she stays hot for well over an hour without stoking the fire! Over the summer I’ll be thinking of ways to make the set up more efficient (eg. tub cover, rock underneath, etc.), but for now, I’m enjoying my last few soaks before the summer fire ban. I’d also love to grow sweet peas up the paddle rack and vining overtop the tub…and mill a nice bath caddy…the list goes on! Where did you purchase the coil? Was it a kit?

me too, 2 hours later, found out having to cut a cast iron pipe, it needs a special sawzall blade. If the tub was cast iron, that's what you may have needed for your hole saw. they need to be carbide-tipped or diamond-grit blades.

People underestimate how well this simple heating loop works. No pumps. No power. Just lots of hot water. Of course it’s a lot of firewood and work to make it happen . Great idea and enjoy!
