@globyglen: Unpopular opinion: sunscreen isn’t one-size-fits-all. One of the biggest problems with skincare advice on social media is that it’s often presented as a universal rule, when in reality, skincare should always be personalized. Factors like skin tone, medical history, active ingredients, lifestyle, and recent treatments all play a role in determining how much sun protection your skin needs. If you’re using retinoids, chemical exfoliants, undergoing lasers, chemical peels, or have a condition that causes photosensitivity, daily sunscreen use is especially important. If you have fair skin, sunscreen is a critical tool in helping protect against UV damage and reducing skin cancer risk. The point isn’t to tell everyone to do the exact same thing. The point is to understand your skin, your risk factors, and make informed decisions based on your unique biology. Your purest form of beauty.

I agree skincare should be personalized, but sunscreen is one recommendation I’d be careful making optional. Melanin offers some protection—not complete protection. People tend to hear “I don’t wear it” and stop listening after that.

No naked skin for me. 😂 I’m in Az., the Sun isn’t a friend. Not everyday for my body.. I forget at times, but there’s so many ways to incorporate it in my daily routine. Many people are targeting results etc, but not protecting the investment just doesn’t add up. Definitely not perfect, when I know better I do better.

SHERRÉSKIN | Nigeria Skincare✨ :
Melanin gives us natural photoprotection. It does not make us UV proof.
If you're treating dark spots, acne marks or uneven tone, why work to fade them while ignoring UV exposure?
I agree skincare should be personalised, but melanin alone isn't a reason to skip sunscreen.
Agree or disagree?
