I just ran into this problem and when I started the bios menu I was able to change a setting so that it accepted usb attachments every time even when locked.

@John Monts: Those screens are notorious for failing because the ribbon cable was made a fraction too short and any dust that gets in it will fry the cable. My friends does the same thing, thankfully mine is still good and I’m now carefully with where I take it outside my house 😂. You can also buy a replacement ribbon cable, but need a soldering station to change it where it attaches to the screen. So don’t throw that broken screen out yet.
