Listen there is no way i would EVER allow my husband to spend 3 months salary on a ring that is insane. We picked mine out together and im a sucker for a deal. 1.5 carat for right at 300 bucks. And yes its real, yes its shiny, yes its beautiful!

we went with moisannite, I think its more beautiful than diamonds. I get so many compliments! my engagement ring was $1500(1/3 of 1 month's salary of his). my wedding bands were $250 each. I highly recommend moisannite, I was able to get the exact look i wanted for 1/2 to 3/4 the price

Wear what you want. Mine was my mother's and I added a plain band. No, it's not tainted or anything. My dad died. My husband's was from Amazon and he loves it. You do you and screw what everyone else wants or thinks. Diamonds or no diamonds... Whatever.

Your spouse doesn’t need to be told the value of it. Go with something you can sensibly afford, budget for it and also plan your proposal. I knew I was going to propose on a particular trip so I knew when I needed to buy the ring by, and so I could keep an eye on when there were deals on. I ended up buying the ring she loved in a Black Friday sale and it cost less than 1/2 a months salary.
